Today, was C's 18 month appointment with Dr. Shori. His current stats are: 31 lbs 7 oz (95%), 34 inches tall (90%) and 18 1/2 in for head circumference (25%). Check the sidebar to check with A's stats...a big difference! Dr. S is totally pleased with the way that C is developing physically and mentally. However, he is being a little stubborn verbally so we will have him evaluated for speech in the near future. The situation isn't that he can't speak, C just won't speak very much. He says "Momma, Daddy, ball, cheese, thank you" and signs milk. However, if you ask him a myriad of things, such as: "Do you want to eat?", C goes to his highchair; "Let's go take a bath or brush your teeth.", he runs to the bathroom; "We're leaving. Go stand by the back door." and he does. C will even go and get his shoes from his dressing table! So, he understands everything I say to or ask of him. C is just refusing to be verbal. How? I don't know. Language is all around our house and I do reinforce all of his gestures and commands with words. He would rather be physical. Verbal just isn't his thing right now. If you have spent much time with us, you know exactly what I mean!
C is still the cute little thing, climbing everything, and keeping up with big brother! He LOVES to read textured books, going anywhere but especially to the lake and zoo, loves being outside, playing at the park, swimming in the pool, playing in the sprinkler or on the slip-n'-slide, getting messy, being a boy and anything that brother is doing! C is such a big helper with emptying the dishwasher, picking up toys and helping me clean.
I love this precious, little boy! He is such a doll and a big Momma's boy!
As I mentioned above, S & A were with S's brother and nephew in OKC for a boys' fishing weekend. Here are some of their pics doing the guy thing.
