Soccer Saturday

This past Saturday, 9/20, was A's 1st soccer game! The weather was perfect..cool at arrival and slightly warming up during the game. Short sleeves and jeans weather! Us moms were sportin' our "Soccer Mom" shirts thanks to Jennifer Jackson, aka Angie's neighbor. I have taken the opportunity to make anyone I thought that would come to A's games a shirt as well. My sister has "A's Aunt Jessie", my mom (Grammy) has "A's Grammy", C has a couple of outfits to rotate throughout the games and as modeled by Scott's mom (Nana) this past weekend "A's Nana!" Overboard? Nope! Just excited! Could you imagine if I had a girl?

Enough details? About the game...I was totally impressed! The kids did awesome!
Flashback: The two practices leading up to the game were...interesting. The first one, A did well and kicked the ball and stayed with the team. My mistake of telling him "this is your soccer ball" so at practice he couldn't understand why he had to share. Whoops! The second practice...the hill had his attention. He just wanted to play on it with Hayden and Mason. Not good odds for the upcoming game. However, I was pleasantly surprised!
Flash forward to the game:They received their team shirts at the game and are Kelly green and gold...think Green Bay Packers, not Baylor! A quick clothing change and we all matched. Our team, The Bees, scored goals (no official points were kept, but goals were made), the kids stayed on the sidelines with their team on the opposite side from the parents and at the end of the game, they were all still there. Not one kid came to sit with their parents. My little A, of course, came to check on me to make sure I was still there...like I would leave! Couldn't miss the GOAL that he scored...even if it was for the other team...good thing we didn't keep score. The team played a real game with all aspects, even throw-ins, and even hit hands at the end. What great sports! Check out my girlfriend's blog...Noe Family...for game time pics. Mine will be posted soon but I opted to take my 35mm film camera with telephoto lens for the action shots. My digital won't keep up and I would be totally frustrated.

Thank you Nana and Papa and Aunt Jessie and Uncle Jason for coming! Can't wait for Papa and Yaya and Aunt Jessie and Uncle Jason to come next week! We truly appreciate your support!
