Trains, SPCA & a new ride

We made our annual visit with Scott's Dad to see The Trains at Northpark Mall on December 17. We have gone every year since A was 20 months. I love that the exhibit benefits the Ronald McDonald house in Dallas. What a blessing for the families who need these services that come from all around to get treatment, surgeries, etc for their son/daughter and for all expenses to be paid while in Dallas. If you haven't been, you should go next year!

A loves trains and especially these! C seemed to love them as well. This was his first year to attend as he was born this time last year and C and Mommy stayed home. I think I enjoy seeing the trains as much as the boys do! It is neat to see who (businesses and individuals) bought a train to decorate and the elaborate trains that run on the tracks. I also LOVE seeing the scenery that highlights the trains such as New York, Dallas downtown and surrounding areas, the desert, San Francisco, etc. So neat!

Of course the trip isn't complete without a visit to the SPCA area also located within Northpark. As you know, our family lost the two most precious dogs in the whole world this past November 1 and 15, yes exactly 2 weeks apart. This, of course, pulled at our heartstrings! I couldn't help myself and just
HAD to hold and pet a few lonely dogs, Jade and Icee. They tried their best to look as cute as can be, licked my face, and looked at me with those sweet eyes as if to say, "I know you lost your best friends and I can't replace them, but can I please come home with you so I can love you?" We just aren't ready yet but will be soon. If you are ready to bring a sweet friend home, think about the SPCA of Dallas or the Lab Rescue.

Dallas Vet and Surgical Center is where we took Saber for years for his blackball eye surgery and yearly follow up visits and where we found out Harley had a liver shunt.
one of A's favorite movies right now - he LOVES Cody!
the intricate details of the scenery - New York City
Washington DC
Dallas skyline
C and Daddy ~ 1st train experience
trains aren't complete without Thomas the Tank Engine
Scott, A, C and Papa Muse
the 4 of us

This was also the day that C got a new ride! We had already switched him to a new "big boy" carseat at the end of May (5 1/2 months old), but after a couple of hours of off and on screaming while we were looking at lights in Highland Park, we decided "why not!" I think he is digging facing forward! And wouldn't you know, not another peep!
