So Proud!

I am so stinkin' proud of my little 3 year and 10 month year old! My big boy slept all night last night in underwear! Only if you are a mom can you appreciate this! He has been waking up dry for months in diapers but I never could bring myself to let him "fly solo." There's just something about the safety net of a diaper that I liked.

So last night as we were leaving for Bible study, Scott says "Let's dress him in something comfortable so when he falls asleep (which always happens) we can put him straight in bed. Should we take a diaper?"

Yesterday, I had forgotten all about needing more diapers for him and took the boys to the Children's Museum with a friend instead. My big idea: A, you get to sleep in big boy underwear tonight! It will be SO fun! Did you know that ALL of your friends sleep in underwear? Ok so I took the liberty of saying all knowing full well that only a few sleep all night in underwear. Sometimes a little peer likeness goes a long way. A said, "Yes! That sounds great! Just like my cousin, Luke!" Luke is only 10 months older than A, so naturally he is already sleeping in underwear.

So I'm elated to report that my plan worked. We cut him off of fluids about 8:30 pm, got home from Bible study and went potty and had the talk: if you need to go potty, wake up and go. There is a nightlight in the bathroom so you can see. You don't want to wake up wet and cold during the night. Viloa! He woke up dry this morning! We are SO VERY PROUD!
