A update
A turns 4 in 16 days. I truly can't believe it! He is such a joy, but getting very trying...too big for his britches. The latest thing I'd like to share is A mastering the art of cutting. I am so proud of him! My Aunt Karen teaches K at an underprivileged elementary and gave me tips on developing his cutting skills. Cutting doesn't just happen and the muscles must be developed. She said to have him squeeze squishy balls, use tweezzers or chop-sticks to pick up smaller objects and place them in containers, cut playdough balls with plastic scissors and play with squirt guns because of the trigger, which would all aid him in cutting. We've been doing all of these things when playing and have been practicing cutting off and on. Today when C went down for a nap A said, "Today at school (Mommy school) let's cut." Here is a video of my big boy using his scissors to cut a staright line correctly. What a big boy! So proud!
This weekend we also had to buy A new Sunday dress shoes and dress sandals for Easter and summer. Crazy that he is now in an 11 1/2 shoe. My father-in-law just bought him shoes for Christmas that were 10. A is growing in body and mind like a weed!
C update
C is also growing quickly! He's been saying "Momma and Da-da" but has now added "mama" (for bananna - think long a - mama is short a) and then laughs afterwards, "bye-bye, uh oh (when he drops something), tee (for teeth)" and points at them. He is such a joy and a little ham. C can get his tickle box turned over and just laughs and laughs. He is enjoying reading a little more. Instead of running all around while I read, he now enjoys sitting in my lap or on his "Caleb" chair while I read. His sitting limit is 2 board books but loves pulling books off the shelf and flipping through them on his own. His favorites include interactive books (pop-ups, feeling things, etc), but on his own terms...ones he picks and for however long he wants to "read".
As you have read, he is a huge climber, so naturally loves the park. His favorite things are to climb the steps, slide down the slide (the higher, twistier, and bumpier the better), run back and forth on the bridge, and swing. Because of his fondness for climbing, C can be found climbing on and being removed from the kitchen chairs and table about 20 times a day! What a stinker!
I feel that God has blessed Scott and me with a beautiful family. Although my boys are different, I love both of them dearly and wouldn't trade either of them for the world. I truly believe that God brings us challenges to build character. I love that both of them are challenges and I love that they are mine. I love that they are healthy, smart, adorable, love God and are in HIS image. I love that I am A and C's mommy!
Enjoy our March pics!
