What's in a Name?

Now for baby girl's name.  Names, by and large, are extremely hard for us.  Especially boy names.  I fell in love with our first son's name, but hubby wasn't sure.  We couldn't decide with our second son's name for 2 days after he was born!!  So for peanut #3, had it been a boy, we were up a creek!

There is some logic behind all of this.  Scott wants to make sure that people can't make fun of the name, have embarrassing initials, or in some way, construe it for something mean or be mistaken for a girl's name, which is why it was painstaking to come up with the boys' names.

Thank goodness girl's names don't fall into this same ridicule.  Scott has had a name in his mind since before we found out A was going to be a boy.  Who knows why, he's just always been fond of it.  Hubby loves the name Abbey Nicole Muse.  For all of you sports fans out there, you'll get a kick out of these initials: A N M.  I just can't do it!

My mom's middle name is Renee and I too, share it.  I've always loved Renee,  but it just doesn't seem to flow with Abbey.  Plus, her initials would then be A R M.  That's not going to work either!!!

Mae Muse is Scott's paternal grandmother and he was very fond of her growing up.  He and his brother have fabulous memories of spending time with his Muse grandparents.  She was a doll and I just loved her too.  Her laugh and love for babies was just precious!  Out of all of the family names we have, these are the options: Loveta, Wynell, Thelma, Adell and Mae.  I love the notion of an heirloom name.   We do have a few possibilities.

The jury is still out on a name, since we haven't fully decided and haven't seriously talked about a girl's name, but we'll be introducing you to Baby Girl Muse some time in January 2012!
